ABOUT EIFJ TOKYO
At École Internationale Franco-Japonaise of Tokyo (EIFJ), we are committed to cultivating inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. Our official, comprehensive, and bilingual curriculum, rooted in the principles of excellence, fosters creative and ethical citizens who are empowered to think objectively, behave responsibly, and shape their own perspectives while respecting others.
Established in 2019, EIFJ serves a diverse community of students from kindergarten through middle school, including an international nursery, with a total capacity of 150 students. We are supported by AEFE towards accreditation, and have been issued a Certificate of Compliance from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, enabling Government subsidies. As a candidate for International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme* (PYP) accreditation, we align with the IB mission, working alongside schools, governments, and international organizations to develop challenging programs of international education and rigorous assessment.
EIFJ remains open during holidays, ensuring continuous education in classrooms with a favorable teacher-student ratio that promotes high-quality learning. Our team of certified educators offers a range of programs designed to nurture active, compassionate, and lifelong learners, in a nurturing and dynamic learning environment that supports the growth and development of every student.

Whether your child is already enrolled in the school, or you are considering EIFJ Tokyo for your child's schooling, or for your own activities, EIFJ Team welcomes you. Let your child spend some time with our students during your visit, ask questions, take advantage of the "intermittent class" program allowing your child to experience a day or more in nursery, preschool-kindergarten, elementary or junior high school programs. Visits are possible Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 12:00 (during study time) and from 16:00, as well as Saturdays from 10:00 to 16:00. Contact us to make an appointment.
In addition to the school management, the President of the Parents' Association, Mr. Maxime Fontaine, is available by appointment from Monday to Friday, usually around noon, to discuss (in French, Japanese or English) in person, by videoconference or by e-mail (association.parents@eifj.org) with any family considering enrollment of their child, and requiring further information.

French-English Elementary Grade 4
« Our four-year-old son has been attending EIFJ for a year. (We started out with their holiday school program and then enrolled him as a full-time student). At EIFJ, our son can learn Japanese and English with equal emphasis and rigor. He is also learning French via shared activities, his friends, and after school activities. We appreciate that the school is designed for working parents. We never worry about having a program for him on various Japanese and French holidays; nor do we worry if we are unexpectedly delayed for an hour or two because of work or trains. EIFJ’s bus comes to our door on regular school days (we live in North Tokyo). Our son comes home from school happy. He is talking about his friends, sharing what he has learned, engaged / asking lots of questions, and singing new songs. What’s good about EIFJ: caring and responsive teachers and staff (who give honest feedback), high educational standards, diverse student backgrounds, and flexibility and resourcefulness one rarely finds pre-k/primary education. We recommend EIFJ with confidence. »

Grade 2 French-English program
« My daughter comes from the Japanese school system and has been studying at this international French-Japanese school for 6 months. Classes are small and taught by certified teachers, which means that the teaching is of the highest quality in French, Japanese, and English. The school is growing rapidly. It organizes numerous activities, school outings, and family events, and is open practically all year round, even during school vacations, which is a great advantage for families with two working parents.
What's more, fees are lower than the competition, and Tokyo City Hall may even, under certain conditions, reimburse part of the school fees (the "mushouka", approx. 37,000 yen/month).
In short, I highly recommend this school to all parents looking to combine quality teaching with reasonable prices. »

At Tokyo's French-Japanese International School, where the 2015 program of the French Ministry of Education, the 2018 recommendations, and an inquiry based approach are implemented, we believe in an active pedagogy that places the child at the heart of his learning.
