Strategy Games
Learn, improve your skills, and have fun with Chess, Checkers, Go or Reversi at EIFJ Tokyo after-school! The activity includes the regular preparation and participation to local and regional championships.
Chess is a strategy game which camps are divided into black and white, moving 16 pieces to hunt down the king one-on-one. It’s a simple game, but it has a lot of depth so it’s also called a brain sport. In order to win, many abilities are required such as formulating a strategy.
Draughts is a strategy game in which two players compete for each other's pieces. In this game, twelve round pieces are used to jump over the enemy side pieces on the board. It is played in so many countries that each country has its own rules.
Go is a one-on-one strategy game in which black and white stones are placed alternately on 361 points on a 19x19 checked board. You can take stones by surrounding the opponent's stones up, down, left and right. In this game, the one with more positions called “地(Ji)” wins ultimately. More and more popular around the world, Go game has a remarkable depth and fascinates many.
Reversi is a one-on-one strategy game in which you compete for the final number of stones by flipping white and black colored stones on the front and back. Players place the stones alternately on 8x8 checked board. To increase the number of your own stones, you need to put your own stones on both ends of your opponent's stones.
