ADMISSIONS
APPLICATION AND ADMISSIONS PROCESS
Once an application is submitted, all applicants take part in the admissions process.
This includes:
- An admission assessment in mathematics and English and/or French, depending on the programme considered.
- Where appropriate, the process may also include a free trial day (the "Intermittent Class" programme), allowing the student to experience classroom learning and enabling teachers to observe the student in an authentic learning environment.
This process helps ensure appropriate placement and a positive transition for each student.

EIFJ, an IB World School and a member of the Mlfmonde network implementing the French national curriculum, is a Nursery, Kindergarten, Elementary, Middle and High School. Tuition fees are determined in alignment with the school’s educational mission, which promotes multilingual excellence (French, English, Japanese), academic rigor, and the development of internationally minded, responsible, and engaged learners within a diverse and inclusive community.
Entrance fee policy and international francophonie openness
The entrance fee is waived for students from countries where French is an official or co-official language, such as France, Belgium, Switzerland, and Canada reflecting EIFJ’s commitment to promoting the diversity, accessibility, and vitality of the Francophonie within its international community.
CAP EIFJ program: long-term tuition fee cap
From Academic Year 2025-2026, EIFJ introduces the “CAP EIFJ” program, designed to reward and incentivize long-term enrollment by offering a capped tuition structure based on the duration of a student’s schooling. This pogram provides financial predictability for families, supports long-term planning, and fosters strong engagement within the EIFJ commnity.
Public subsidies (Japan)
As a school inspected and accredited by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, EIFJ enables eligible families to benefit from Japanese government subsidies.
- Children aged 3 to 6 may receive between ¥77,000 and ¥97,000 per month (depending on municipality, upgraded in 2026)
- Children aged 0 to 2 may receive between ¥80,000 and ¥100,000 per month
Vouchers, reductions and financial support
EIFJ offers a range of financial support mechanisms, including:
- Sibling discounts (25% and 50%)
- Merit-based scholarships
- Support for families experiencing financial difficulty
- Contributions from parents or partner entities supporting the school’s development
- Benefits for employees of CCIFJ member companies
- Access to diplomatic and institutional networks (EU, Council of Europe, OIF Member States)
Friend referral system
At EIFJ, if you already have a child enrolled in the school and successfully encourage a family to enroll, we offer benefits through credits.
Base tuition fees are waived for all EIFJ full-time personnel and teachers.
